Former Penn State football linebacker Jonathan Sutherland has signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, after he had a successful rookie minicamp tryout with them.

Sutherland played for Penn State from 2017-22 and was the first player to wear the No. 0 for it. During his time with the Nittany Lions, he recorded 58 appearances, 11 starts, 137 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one forced fumble.
After going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Seattle Seahawks signed Sutherland as an undrafted free agent. He was also drafted into the Canadian Football League by the Montreal Alouettes. However, he did not make any appearances with the Seahawks. After being released by the Seahawks, he signed with the New York Giants ahead of the 2024 season.
The Giants waived Sutherland before the 2024 season got underway, with only one NFL game appearance in his career last year in a preseason game against the New York Jets. Now, he will look to make his first regular-season game appearance with the Raiders ahead of the 2025 season.
