October is in full swing, which means we’ve hit the peak of the college football season. And we’re going to learn a lot about South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers over the next month. Potentially the first player picked as the top quarterback prospect in the 2026 NFL draft, Sellers is a popular draw for many New Orleans Saints fans already looking to next year. And with his Gamecocks coming off a bye week to start October, the next four weeks are going to tell us whether or not Spencer Rattler’s former backup has developed into a surefire NFL prospect.
Sellers is set up to face four ranked SEC defenses in the next four weeks, starting with a night game against the No. 11-ranked LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge. Kickoff is set for Oct. 11 at 6:45 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. As is often the case, LSU is loaded with future NFL players, including star defenders like cornerback Mansoor Delane and linebacker Harold Perkins.
After that, Sellers is returning to South Carolina for a two-week homestand against the No. 6-ranked Oklahoma Sooners. He’ll need to watch out for defensive linemen Gracen Halton and R Mason Thomas. This game on Oct. 25 will kick off at either 11 a.m. CT or 11:45 a.m. CT, and it will be shown on ABC or the SEC Network. Stay tuned for confirmation.
Depending on how those games turn out, South Carolina’s next home game on Oct. 25, against the Alabama Crimson Tide (SC’s homecoming game), will begin at either 2:30 p.m. CT or 7 p.m. CT. The channel has yet to be determined. A defense stocked with cornerback Domani Jackson, edge rusher LT Overton, and safety Keon Sabb makes for challenges at every level of the field.
That’s also the case for Nov. 1’s road game at Ole Miss; kickoff will be set for either 2:30 p.m. CT or 7 p.m. CT, and the channel has not been decided just yet. Sellers will have his hands full evading defensive lineman Zxavian Harris and linebacker Suntarine Perkins. South Carolina’s second bye week on Nov. 8 is a compelling light at the end of the end of the tunnel.
If Sellers lives up to the hype and competes hard in that stretch, his team will earn those coveted prime-time kickoffs rather than live in the late-afternoon window. More importantly for him, personally, doing so will boost his draft stock into the stratosphere. Other summer mock draft hopefuls like Arch Manning, Cade Klubnik, Garrett Nussmeier, and Drew Allar have fallen off, leaving Sellers as the last man standing while risers like Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore, and Ty Simpson elbow their way in.
