ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney did not practice Thursday and is considered day to day, according to head coach Raheem Morris.
Mooney suffered a hamstring injury during the team’s Week 5 matchup against the Washington Commanders. It remains unclear whether he’ll be available to play the Buffalo Bills on Monday.
“Right now, Mooney is still day to day,” Morris said. “We’ll get a good feel for what it looks like moving forward.”
It’s been a rough start to the season for Mooney. He suffered a shoulder injury on the first day of training camp and missed the team’s season opener before made his season debut in Week 2 against the Minnesota Vikings, garnering two receptions for 20 yards.
A week later, in the team’s 30-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers, Mooney was targeted 11 times, but caught just four passes for 44 yards. He made just one catch for 15 yards against the Commanders before hurting his leg.
A.J. Terrell is back
Morris shared good news on Thursday regarding cornerback A.J. Terrell.
Terrell, who’s missed the past two games with a hamstring injury, returned to practice Thursday and is seemingly trending in the right direction.
Terrell says he’ll be ready for Monday, but Morris said he’ll continue to provide updates as the week goes on.

Dee Alford has filled in at cornerback for Terrell.
“It is nice to see guys go out there and step up in those games,” Morris said. “Dee Alford, Clark (Phillips III) getting a helmet in one of those games, going out there to play and being ready to go,” Morris said. “Mike Hughes stepping up in this day in age, being the No. 1 corner. Whatever it’s been, fill in those roles and be ready to go.”
The Falcons’ Week 6 primetime matchup against the Bills on Monday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium kicks off at 7:15 p.m.
