The last time the Cardinals played in Indianapolis, the Colts quarterback was Jacoby Brissett.

The question is whether this time when the Cardinals play in Indy whether their own QB will be Jacoby Brissett.

Kyler Murray returned to practice on Friday on a limited basis, the first time he got work all week on his injured foot. Coach Jonathan Gannon said Friday morning “we’ll see how it goes” for all the limited players, including Murray, but not surprisingly, he provided little hint of Murray’s Sunday status.

Murray did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. Brissett, if pressed into the lineup, would be making his first start for Arizona. He has 53 career starts. He played for the Colts from 2017-2020.

“Same stuff, different day,” Brissett said. “I’ve been through it before.”

Saturday will provide another potential tell if the Cardinals elevate practice-squad quarterback Kaden Slovis for the game as a potential Brissett backup. Slovis also was with the Colts, coming into the league as an undrafted rookie in 2024 in Indy before being cut at the end of preseason.
