Former NFL safety Ryan Clark left his ESPN colleagues stunned during Friday’s edition of ‘First Take’ after going into detail about Cam Skattebo’s “crotch candy.”
The New York Giants running back has made plenty of headlines since starring in his team’s shock 34-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, in which he ran for 98 yards and scored three touchdowns. In fact, teammate Jameis Winston’s reaction to Skattebo’s impressive outing pretty much summed up the Giants’ fanbase’s feelings.
Not everything was rosy, however, as Skattebo also paid the price for his actions toward Eagles safety Andre Mukuba during the fourth quarter, denying himself a 100-yard game in the process. After taking a big hit from Mukuba, he was spotted muttering something to his opponent.

Now, further questions have been raised over Skattebo’s behavior after Clark opted to tell a story involving candy that the 23-year-old used to offer him after shoving it down his pants – without showering – after his Arizona State games when he was at college.
The former Giants safety was discussing Skattebo’s performance on ‘First Take’ when he made the revelation, leaving his colleagues, including Stephen A. Smith, understandably speechless.
“This dude is made to win, and he’s also a kind, giving human,” Clark began. “After the game, I would hang out and talk to his parents. He would come out and his mom would give him a plastic bag of candy.

“He would take that plastic bag of candy, and while he ate that plastic bag of candy, he would not take a shower before he came out, and he would stick it in his pants.
“I appreciated him, he pulled them out his pants and he goes, ‘R.C., do you want a candy?’ Hell naw, what makes you think I’d eat your crotch candy? But what I’m saying is this — the dude is all dog, all boy, and an absolute baller.”
Not only was the story hard to believe, but so was Clark’s decision to share it on air. While there is a humorous angle to the tale, it’s also no surprise that some have been left rather uncomfortable about what they’ve heard.
“What happened to Ryan Clark man he been on weirdo timing lately,” one person posted on X. “My god when we will be finished with this dude?” questioned another. “This guy is literally out of his mind,” wrote a third.

Others joked about another Clark apology coming, having already seen the former NFL star issue a number of them in recent months for comments made on air.
Clark is renowned for having some wild takes, such as when he claimed that his former colleague Robert Griffin III doesn’t understand the struggles of black women because he has a “white wife”.
Last month, he also came under heavy fire for claiming that Tom Brady, who is widely regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time, was not a “generational talent”, comments that once again left his ESPN colleagues speechless.
