The Rams traded up three times on Day 3.

They began by jumping up 10 picks in the fourth round to select Auburn running back Jarquez Hunter 117th overall. Los Angeles then traded into the fifth round to select Ohio State defensive lineman Ty Hamilton, and followed that with another fifth-round trade-up for inside linebacker Chris “Pooh” Paul Jr.. Finally, they capped the draft by picking wide receiver Konata Mumpfield in round seven.

All four of the Rams’ draft picks on Saturday will bring distinct skill sets at different positions to the Rams’ roster, as evidenced by their college production.

Here are five interesting stats from the Rams’ Day 3 draft picks:

Hunter was ranked top 10 in the FBS in rushes of both 10 and 15-plus yards in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus

Hunter’s explosiveness will be a welcome addition to a Rams backfield that had the fourth-fewest carries of 10-plus yards last season (37). Meanwhile, Hunter had 42 such rushes (ranking eighth in the FBS) to go along with 27 carries of 15-plus yards (ninth). His career-long explosive run rate (10-plus yards) was the second-best in this year’s draft class.

That speed showed up at the combine as well, where Hunter ran a 4.44 40-yard dash.
