Michigan picked up its second straight win last week when it got past visiting Wisconsin 24-10. The Wolverines took a 10-7 lead in the second quarter on Dominic Zvada’s 40-yard field goal and never looked back. Freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood finished 19-of-28 for 270 yards and a touchdown while Justice Haynes ran for 117 yards and two scores on 19 carries. Donaven McCulley was the top target in the passing game with six catches for 112 yards and a TD. Michigan won last season’s meeting between the teams in Ann Arbor for its first win over the Trojans since the 1988 Rose Bowl.
USC comes off a bye week following its first loss of the season at Illinois on Sept. 27. The Fighting Illini secured the 34-32 victory with a 41-yard field goal on the game’s final play. Jayden Maiava has completed 70.5% of his throws for 1,587 yards and 11 touchdowns while Waymond Jordan leads the ground game with 537 yards and five scores on a 7.0-yard-per-carry average. Makai Lemon is the go-to receiver with 35 catches for 589 yards and five TDs. Bishop Fitzgerald paces the defense with three interceptions.
