The Washington Commanders will be without two wide receivers in their upcoming matchup against the Chicago Bears, despite the organization preparing for the return of one of those wideouts

On Saturday, it was confirmed that star receiver Terry McLaurin would miss yet another game, his third this season, as he continues to rehab from a quad injury. Along with McLaurin, Noah Brown is set to hit the shelf against the Bears, dealing with a combination of groin and knee injuries.

McLaurin did not practice this week, leading to head coach Dan Quinn ruling out the star for the Monday matchup against the Bears. Star quarterback Jayden Daniels will be without one of his main targets, though if his demeanor behind the scenes is any indication, it should not cause the signal caller’s mindset to sway

“So Terry and Noah will be out,” Quinn told reporters. “Both of them made great progress this week. They’re just not there yet, but definitely have made good progress. As far as the rest of the team, we’ll take it into Monday for anybody that we need to adjust and go through that with call-ups, et cetera, injuries in that way. So, but Terry and Noah will both be out.”

Of note, Quinn also stated that star Deebo Samuel was banged up throughout the week but is expected to play against the Bears, though the team will be monitoring his progress as it gets closer to game time.

Quinn’s latest update on McLaurin comes after the former expressed that the organization would continue to monitor the latter’s progress to see if he could suit up.

“We’ll make sure we take all the right steps,” Quinn told reporters. “Just like we do with all the guys. If they’re able to, you know, fully express how they play and do the thing, then we’re there. And if not, we’ll have to keep waiting, but we won’t decide yet.

“But with having an extra day, that never hurts going into it. But as we get a few more days from now, I think I’ll have a better sense for if it’s able to be done and what it looks like and how they’re responding to it.”

Despite the extensive injury issues plaguing the Commanders, Quinn stated that he was proud of how the team continues to battle through obstacles and how it showed the team’s true character after a handful of games this season.

DON’T MISS

“I think this team is tough,” Quinn told reporters. “I really do. And I feel like the line of scrimmages, that’s, you know, a big part of that from running the football, you know, at the line of scrimmage defensively. And so we made a big emphasis on that, you know, heading into 20, when was it, 2025.

“And so adding some players, seeing those roles develop. I like that about our group. The team is connected, and that allows them to really lean in on one another to get better, to, you know, get our execution better. So I think those are some things that I found out about our group.

“It’s a tough team. They’re resilient. They’ve had some injuries early to make sure that, you know, they’re ready to step in into those spaces. And then I think this is a connected team.”
