Montana State ran for 384 yards and finished the game scoring 28 unanswered points to deliver a dominant 48-14 victory over Idaho State on Saturday afternoon inside Bobcat Stadium.
Early on the game looked like it would be on offensive shootout, reminiscent of the 42-38 loss that Idaho State suffered in Missoula the week prior. Montana State held a 20-14 lead early in the second quarter but then the Bobcats shutout the Bengals for the rest of the afternoon.
MSU (5-2, 3-0) scored touchdowns on five of their six first half possessions en route to a commanding 34-14 lead over Idaho State (2-5, 1-2) heading into the locker room.
Leading Montana State’s unstoppable run game was Adam Jones’ 16 carries for 173 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Justin Lamson had his dual threat capabilities on full display as well, running for 65 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries to go with his tremendously efficient day passing of 17-for-21 with 184 yards and four scores through the air with no interceptions.
The Bobcats improve their dominance over Idaho State in the all-time series as MSU is now 52-31-3 against the Bengals with a 33-10-1 record in Bozeman.
