The Pittsburgh Steelers will do battle with the Cleveland Browns in Week 6 — and after Calvin Austin III was ruled out with a shoulder injury, second-year receiver Roman Wilson factors to play a major role in the game.
Hours before kickoff, HC Mike Tomlin shared his take on Wilson’s slow start to the season — but remains hopeful that he’ll make the most of his opportunity in Austin’s absence.

“I’ve seen dramatic growth and development in [Wilson] day-to-day,” Tomlin said via Steelers.com. “It hasn’t necessarily panned out in-stadium, but again, I watch day-to-day, I know that what happens day-to-day invariably turns up in-stadium, and so it’s simply a matter of time. And sometimes it takes an opportunity such as this — the lack of availability of Calvin Austin — to generate that. He’s had really good days, he was really good in the preseason, and so it’s a natural progression, from my perspective.”
There may be no game more perfect this season for Wilson’s breakout than Week 6 — especially with the Browns experiencing a cornerback identity crisis after trading away Greg Newsome II for Tyson Campbell a few days ago.
