Cleveland Browns defensive end Joe Tryon-Shoyinka left the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tryon-Shoyinka was seen walking back to the locker room at the start of the second half. Tryon-Shoyinka has been ruled out of the game with a hip injury. The defensive end was brought in by the Browns as a free agent this offseason. The former first-round pick primarily plays on special teams and has few plays every game on defense. Tyron-Shoyinka chased down Steelers’ quarterback Rodgers earlier in the game. It’s unclear when the defensive end suffered the hip injury.

The Browns are relatively deep at defensive end. The team hasn’t developed another high-end pass rusher opposite Myles Garrett. However, Alex Wright and Isaiah McGuire have developed into starter-worthy pieces. The Browns were hoping Tyron-Shoyinka could blossom into a serviceable pass rusher in Cleveland. Hopefully, Tyron-Shoyinka won’t miss too much time, but the Browns will be without him against the Steelers. The Browns need all the help they can to stop a determined and surgical Steelers’ offense. The Browns trail the Steelers 6-16.
