It was another tough one for the Ravens, who played better this week, especially on defense, but it was not enough to overcome the Rams. The Ravens came out determined to run the game and had some success running the ball with Derrick Henry early. He finished with 100 yards for the first time since week 1, but the offense could not find the end zone. They had several chances to get back in the game, but could not avoid the costly mistakes in the end. The game was tied at three at halftime, thanks to the Ravens failing to score from the 1-yard line. That set the tone for a mistake-filled second half that would see two drives end on a pair of Zay Flowers fumbles. The first came on a play where Flowers was trying to get a first down on a reception and had the ball knocked loose. The second was on a mishandled handoff from quarterback Cooper Rush on a jet sweep. The Ravens’ defense had one of its better games and did a good job of limiting the Rams to only 241 yards of offense and limiting star receiver Puca Nacua to only two catches for 38 yards. He left the game in the second quarter after landing awkwardly in the end zone, but would return in a limited role in the second half. The Ravens sacked quarterback Matthew Stafford twice, including a sack fumble by defensive tackle John Jenkins. The Rams gave the Ravens plenty of opportunities with several key drops from receivers and questionable play calling at the end. They had a chance to make it a three-score game with a field goal in the fourth, but failed to convert and kept the game at a 14-point deficit. It would not matter, though, as the Ravens would eventually bench Cooper Rush for Tyler Huntley in the fourth quarter.Huntley provided a small spark for the offense and even had the longest play of the day on a 19-yard scramble. Unfortunately, he could not find the endzone, and the Ravens’ offense was ineffective for another game without Lamar Jackson. This team will need to do some soul-searching during the bye and hope that the return of Jackson can help turn this season around. UP NEXTThe Ravens have a bye week for week 7 and return to M&T Bank Stadium in two weeks to take on the Chicago Bears. Despite being (1-5), the Ravens are still (1-0) in the AFC North and could still win the division. It will be a tough road ahead with very little room for error, and they will need to get healthy on both sides of the ball in order to salvage this season.
