The Cleveland Browns drafted seven players in the 2025 NFL draft and will add another 12 or so undrafted free agents to the team’s 90 man roster as well. As always, the quarterback position will lead the conversation as the Browns enter offseason activities with five signal callers looking for an opportunity.
While we (like many others) quickly look ahead to the 2026 NFL draft with mock draft options, it is important to remember the extra first rounder when evaluating what Cleveland GM Andrew Berry did in this year’s draft.
After another a head scratching decision late in the third round, only to come back and select QB Shedeur Sanders in the fifth, some recognized how the Browns draft class would look if it was reorganized around predraft expectations.
Using the Consensus Big Board, here is the order in which Cleveland’s seven person draft class would have been selected with their rankings in parathesis:
#5 – DT Mason Graham (6)
#33 – QB Shedeur Sanders (12)
#36 – LB Carson Schwesinger (46)
#67 – RB Quinshon Judkins (54)
#94 – TE Harold Fannin Jr. (77)
#126 – RB Dylan Sampson (90)
#144 – QB Dillon Gabriel (178)
Over time, the Consensus Big Board (there are a few of them now) has done a good job of predicting NFL success. At times, even better than the league itself. In the case of the Browns draft class, Berry got a lot of value with Sanders, Judkins, Fannin and Sampson and only “overdrafted” Graham (by one spot), Schwesinger and Gabriel.
If you told a Cleveland fan Thursday morning that the above was the team’s draft class, in that order, along with a future first and fifth (in 2027), most would have been very happy to thrilled. The order in which things played out created a bit more angst and a bit more excitement.
Organized like that, does it change how you feel about the Browns draft class? How do you think you would have felt about those seven in that order if I predicted it Thursday morning?
