Mike Vrabel is in first year as New England Patriots coach

Former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel is coming back to Nashville.

Vrabel makes his Nissan Stadium return on Oct. 19 when the New England Patriots face the Titans (noon CT, CBS) in Week 7.

The Titans (1-5) have not played at home since Week 3; their past three games have been at Houston, Arizona and Las Vegas.

The New England Patriots, in Vrabel’s first season as coach, come to Nashville on Oct. 19 having won their past three games, including an upset win at Buffalo on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 5.

The Patriots won 25-19 at the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 12, with Drake Maye throwing for 261 yards and three touchdowns.

Receiver Stefon Diggs has started to become a force, with consecutive 100-yard games before the Oct. 12 win against New Orleans, where he had three catches for 28 yards. His addition has helped the Patriots’ otherwise tame receiving corps.

Left tackle Will Campbell was the team’s first-round pick in April, and the former LSU lineman has been steady in his rookie year.

Former Titans Harold Landry III and Jack Gibbens are starters on the defensive side of the ball. Landry has 4.5 sacks.
