The Atlanta Falcons are about to enter the toughest two-game stretch on their 2025 schedule, starting with Monday night’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills. Then, after their Week 6 showdown against Josh Allen and the Bills, the Falcons have another prime-time game against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.

The 49ers are tied for first place in the NFC West with a 4-2 record, but they suffered a significant injury in Week 6. During Sunday’s 30-19 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco linebacker Fred Warner dislocated and broke his right ankle.

After the game, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said Warner would need surgery and is out for the rest of the 2025 season. As talented as San Francisco’s defense is, losing Warner hurts. The four-time All-Pro has been one of the best linebackers in all of football over the last eight years.

Warner has started 120 games since entering the league as a third-round pick in 2018. The 28-year-old has been a menace against both the pass and run, recording 947 tackles (597 solo), 10 interceptions, 10 sacks and 17 forced fumbles over eight seasons in San Francisco.

Even without Warner, playing the 49ers on the road will be a difficult task for the Falcons. However, the team can’t afford to think about next week just yet as a Monday night matchup against the Bills awaits. Monday’s game starts at 7:15 p.m. ET on ESPN.
