Here are a few quick notes from the Colts’ snap count totals from Week 6.

As we continue to take a look back at the Indianapolis Colts’ Week 6 performance against the Arizona Cardinals, let’s highlight some noteworthy snap count figures.

For the most part, when it comes to playing time, there aren’t many huge surprises, but each week, especially in the first half of the year, there are a few things we can glean.

So, with help from PFF, here are a few quick notes from the Colts‘ snap count totals from Week 6.

A full day for Jonathan Taylor

It’s not uncommon by any means for Taylor to have a heavy workload — in fact, that’s the norm. But even with that being the case, Taylor had little rest in this game, playing 54 of the Colts‘ 59 offensive snaps on his way to another big day.

RB2 splits

Obviously, there weren’t many snaps to go around for Ameer Abdullah and DJ Giddens, but with Giddens ‘ early-season struggles in pass pro, he was utilized only on running plays while Abdullah handled passing plays.

The cornerback position

The Colts continue to navigate numerous injuries at cornerback. Without Kenny Moore and Charvarius Ward, Johnathan Edwards and Mekhi Blackmon started outside, while Chris Lammons was at the nickel.

Ashton Dulin played two snaps

With Alec Pierce back in the mix, Dulin played just one snap on offense. He also played one snap on defense as a blitzer.

Germaine Pratt takes on a big role right away

In his first game with the Colts, just days after signing, Pratt took on a large role, playing 58 of the 73 offensive snaps. His familiarity with Lou Anarumo’s defense helped him hit the ground running. The linebacker rotation that had been taking place next to Zaire Franklin was almost non-existent in this game.

Tyler Warren in the backfield

We’ve seen Warren in the backfield each week, but in this game, he played a career-high eight snaps there. In total, he was on the field for 52 offensive plays.
