“I knew this day would come — but now that it’s here, I’m feeling so many emotions I never expected,” Smith wrote in the post. “Who would’ve thought that a kid from Greenville, AL, with just one year of high school football experience, would go on to play professional football in the NFL for 11 incredible years!”
Smith was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in the fourth round in 2015, and spent his first four seasons there before a three-year stint in Green Bay. Over his 11-year career, Smith has played in 175 games, has 70.5 sacks, 223 solo tackles, 16 passes defensed and 10 forced fumbles.
Smith was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019 and 2020 when he played for the Packers, and in 2022 during a one-season stop in Minnesota.
