While he only received a minicamp invite after going undrafted in the 2025 NFL draft, Kent State wide receiver Luke Floriea has earned himself a contract on the 90-man roster with the Cleveland Browns.

Not only is Floriea a Kent State alum, but he is also a Northeast Ohio native, growing up in Mentor. While he stands at just 5-foot-8 and 170 pounds, Floriea heads to the NFL level after racking up 699 yards and seven touchdowns for the Golden Flashes a season ago.

Floriea was a favorite target throughout rookie minicamp of fifth round quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The two will now have the chance to continue to build rapport as the receiver will hang around Berea, get to work out in the facility, and potentially even hang around by the time training camp rolls around in late July. Again, a lot can change between now and then, and roster spots are fluid.

However, Floriea put in the work this past weekend at minicamp and now gets the chance to not only fight for a spot on the practice squad, but potentially the 53-man roster as well for his hometown team.
