Jacksonville Jaguars turnover machine Devin Lloyd will miss Sunday’s game in London against the Los Angeles Rams with a calf injury.

The Jaguars ruled Lloyd out in a news release shortly after 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 after coach Liam Coen said earlier in the day that Lloyd was undergoing testing for “tightness” in his calf which limited him to 15 plays in a 20-12 loss to Seattle on Oct. 12 at EverBank Stadium.

Devin Lloyd was getting nationwide attention

Lloyd, a third-year player who was drafted in the first round in 2023, had gotten national raves for his play early in the season, coming up with five total takeaways and forcing a fumble.

He returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown in the Jaguars’ 31-28 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 6.

Lloyd had three tackles in the first half against Seattle before coming out in favor of Miller, who had five stops.

The Jaguars also announced that tight end Quintin Morris was out for the Rams game with a groin injury. The Jags, down to two healthy tight ends, quickly moved to sign six-year NFL veteran Jordan AKins to the practice squad, and released tight end Qadir Ismail.

Akins, a third-round draft pick from UCF by the Houston Texans in 2018, spent five seasons with the Texans, and one with Cleveland. He has caught 206 passes for 2,277 yards and 10 touchdowns, and played in two postseason games.

Akins, 33, played four years of pro baseball in the Texas Rangers chain before playing at UCF from 2014-17. He played 41 games for the Knights, catching 81 passes for 1,149 yards and eight touchdowns.
