Due to injuries and ineffectiveness, the 49ers have relied heavily on their offseason and in-season acquisitions through the first six weeks of the 2025 NFL season.

Whether it’s quarterback Mac Jones, who is filling in for injured starter Brock Purdy, or veteran kicker Eddy Piñeiro, who replaced Jake Moody, coach Kyle Shanahan is getting a lot of production from unexpected sources.

So, which player has made the biggest impact for the NFC-West leading 49ers? NBC Sports Bay Area asked the Faithful to weigh in on the topic, and to little surprise, Jones came out on top in a landslide, garnering 72.4 percent of the votes.

Piñeiro, now the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history, finished as the runner-up with 17.8 percent of the vote.

Defensive lineman Bryce Huff and wide receiver Kendrick Bourne were neck and neck, with the former finishing slightly ahead of the latter.

Jones, in four games in place of Purdy, has completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 1,252 yards and six touchdown passes with three interceptions.

Piñeiro, signed ahead of the 49ers’ Week 2 game, has made all 15 of his field-goal attempts and is 7-of-8 on extra-point tries.

Bourne has been a revelation in his second stint with the 49ers. Coming off back-to-back 142-yard receiving games, the veteran wideout is second on the team with 371 receiving yards this season.

Huff, acquired from the Philadelphia Eagles this season, has three sacks, 14 total tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defended this season.

As the injuries mount, the 49ers will continue to rely on unsung heroes.

Jones, Piñeiro, Bourne and Huff certainly have been bright spots during a successful season that has been overshadowed by injuries.
