The AFC juggernaut Buffalo Bills came crashing down for a second straight week on primetime television. Last week, it was the New England Patriots going on the road and knocking off the Bills at Orchard Park.
This week, it was the Bills collapsing under the weight of injuries and sloppy football against the Atlanta Falcons at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. With back-to-back losses, the Bills have now fallen to 4-2 on the season, which is tied for the best record in the AFC East division with the Patriots.

However, the Patriots own the tiebreaker due to their Week 5 win at Buffalo, making them the current No. 1-ranked team in the AFC East for the first time since 2019.
It’s a remarkable achievement for a Patriots team that has suddenly gone from looking like a reclamation project to a legitimate AFC contender.
Granted, there is still plenty of football left to play in the season, and it’s unlikely that reigning MVP quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills will take this one lying down.
But all of the futuristic talk surrounding the Patriots should come to an end. With the way Drake Maye is playing and Mike Vrabel is coaching, it’s clear as day that the Patriots have arrived.

The future is now.
