J-Thomas went undrafted after spending the last six seasons with the Nittany Lions, but recently worked out with the Buccaneers and Baltimore Ravens.

J-Thomas becomes the ninth player to sign a contract with a pro team this offseason, joining Abdul Carter, Tyler Warren, Kevin Winston Jr., Jaylen Reed, Kobe King, Jalen Kimber, Sal Wormley and Coziah Izzard. Wide receiver Julian Fleming was set to sign with the Green Bay Packers, but he failed his physical and was dropped from the team.

J-Thomas was a fan-favorite in Happy Valley, known for his run-stuffing ability and leadership skills on one of the nation’s top defenses. Though he often flew under the radar, J-Thomas will now have a chance to play in Tampa Bay along with former Penn State wide receiver Chris Godwin, who’s currently recovering from injury.
