Fresh off a bye week and ready to get back on the field, the Houston Texans will have a challenging battle on their hands across the coast in Seattle on Monday Night Football against the Seahawks. According to the early lines over at BetMGM, the Texans enter next week as a 3-point underdog, which basically is a pick’em since more sportsbooks spot the home team a 3-point advantage

The over/under for total points scored between the two teams has been set at 42.5.

Defensively, Houston has been near-perfect the last two weeks, allowing one touchdown in eight quarters while totaling back-to-back wins for the first time this season. C.J. Stroud has also been impressive, totaling six touchdowns against zero turnovers over the past five quarters, resulting in a 26-0 win over the Tennessee Titans and a 44-10 win over the Baltimore Ravens.

The combination of Sam Darnold and Jaxon Smith-Njigba is lethal and only getting better ahead of Monday night’s performance between Houston and Jacksonville. Darnold threw for 295 yards and totaled touchdown passes, including one to Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp, on his way to a 20-12 victory against the Jaguars on Sunday at EverBank Stadium.

Smith-Njigba finished with eight catches for 162 yards as the Seahawks. Defensively, Seattle sacked Trevor Lawrence seven times and limited the ground game to 59 yards on 31 carries. Lawrence found the end zone twice, but both touchdowns came on broken plays in coverage by the defense.

The all-time series between the Texans and Seahawks is 4-1 in favor of Seattle. The Seahawks secured the last win behind Russell Wilson in 2021 during the Texans’ rebuild at NRG Stadium. Houston also has never won a game a Lumen Field, which remains one of two stadiums the Texans have yet to win at over the past two decades of their tenure.
