Jaxson Dart talks about Giants’ attitude this season after beating Eagles

Coming off their big victory over the Eagles, Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart talks about how the team is approaching each game this season.

The Giants (2-4) shocked the football world last week when they cruised to a 34-17 victory over the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles.

The 17-point win over their division rivals tied the Giants’ largest margin of victory over Philadelphia in the span of 12 years.

Riding high and well rested, the G-Men get the ultimate test when they head to Mile High to face the AFC West-leading Denver Broncos (4-2), who boast one of the top defenses in the NFL.

This late afternoon game will feature two of the best pass rushers in the league on each side, with the NFL sack leader in Broncos linebacker Nik Bonnito (eight sacks), and Giants defensive end Brian Burns, who has seven sacks, third-most in the league entering Week 7.

Here are our staff predictions for the Giants vs. Broncos Week 7 matchup in Denver:

Art Stapleton

The pick: Broncos 27, Giants 23

Here’s why: Jaxson Dart became just the third quarterback in the Super Bowl era to rush for at least 50 yards in each of his first three career NFL starts, joining Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. RB Cam Skattebo scored three touchdowns in the upset of the Eagles. Can the Giants do enough against a really good defense in Denver that is solid from front to back? I think Dart plays well, but it’s asking a lot to go on the road and pull this one off.

Bert Bainbridge

The pick: Broncos 20, Giants 13

Here’s why: The Giants go from playing an Eagles defense without Jalen Carter last Thursday night to going on the road to face one of, if not the best defensive units in the NFL in the Broncos. After a dominant showing from Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo in Week 6, it will be much more of a struggle for the Giants dynamic duo against a Denver defense that ranks top-five in multiple defensive categories and have allowed only 95 points through six games, third-fewest in the NFL.

Don’t be surprised if the Giants catch the Broncos off guard by getting out to an early lead given their extra rest and Denver coming back from London. Even still, it’ll be too little, too late for the G-Men here as the Broncos come out on top and the Giants fall to 0-4 on the road with five of their next seven games away from MetLife Stadium before their Week 14 bye.

Bob Jordan

The pick: Broncos 27, Giants 10

Here’s why: Broncos in last game were guilty of playing down to the Jets’ level, so don’t hold that against them. Denver is back in action as a touchdown favorite with no bye week after the London game and there’s little evidence that the travel and time-zone swing cause significant hangovers (teams with post-international games and no bye are 11-7 straight up since 2016).

Dave Rivera

The pick: Broncos 24, Giants 19

Here’s why: Big challenge for Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo and the Giants offense as they head west to face one of the NFL’s top defenses. If they can secure the ball and limit the turnovers, they’ll have a chance to make this a really good game, but unfortunately they’ll make one too many mistakes.
