A quick look at Denzel Boston’s stat line would tell you that the junior is having a solid season with the Washington Huskies.
His 30 catches and 444 yards are good for No. 9 and No. 10 in the Big Ten, respectively, while his 6 touchdowns have him tied for third in the Big Ten. However, when you watch him play, he shows all the makings of a high-caliber NFL draft prospect.
That was apparent in Washington’s 38-19 win over Rutgers, where Boston hauled in 5 catches for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns. The product of Emerald Ridge High School displayed his immensely strong hands on a 23-yard score, where he wrapped around the defensive back in coverage and secured the ball with both hands away from his body as he went to the ground.
Later on, he showed off more of his high-level traits on his second touchdown of the night, a 38-yard score, by making an adjustment on a back shoulder throw from Demond Williams Jr. and creating separation from his defender with his arms without drawing a flag.
At 6-foot-4 and 209 pounds, Boston has proven to be one of the nation’s best in contested catch scenarios, and after the game, he discussed one of his best traits, his ability to track the football, and gave credit to his father.
“When I was five years old, we’d be in the backyard throwing the football and catching it over the shoulder and all kinds of stuff like that,” Boston said. “I’ve been doing this my whole life, and it’s a God-given ability.”
As the Huskies prepare to face a tougher crop of opponents during the second half of the season, Boston, who came into the season as a projected first-round pick in the 2026 draft, should continue to establish himself as one of the NFL’s top prospects in the back half of the season.
