Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores has become one of the top coordinators, if not the top, in the entirety of the NFL. He is a former head coach who had a turbulent run with the Miami Dolphins and was let go despite decent success that the team has not enjoyed much of since his absence. Meanwhile, the Vikings have enjoyed having Flores after he was the Pittsburgh Steelers’ linebackers coach, and he has helped transform their defense.
Now, fast forward two years into his tenure, and Flores is becoming a hot name in head coaching searches once again. The question is, though, with the first opening popping up in Tennessee after they fired Brian Callahan on Monday, is he a fit there?
The team could use someone with his mentality and approach as they have some pieces on offense, but not much to work with on defense. They have All-Pro talent, Jeffrey Simmons, on the defensive line, but behind him is a less-than-ideal collection of talent. However, Flores has always done a good job of developing and maximizing the talent he has at his disposal, especially in the secondary.

While he could be just what the doctor ordered for the Titans, it is unlikely this is the head coaching spot that will tear him away from Minnesota. With them having the number one overall pick, quarterback Cam Ward, they will likely go in the direction of hiring an offensive-minded coach.
However, there is plenty of time left for more openings to pop up that may fit Flores.
