COLUMBIA, S.C. (WBTV) – Panthers owners David and Nicole Tepper were enshrined in history at the University of South Carolina on Tuesday morning.
USC’s Department of Sport and Entertainment Management was named after David and Nicole — now officially the David and Nicole Tepper Department of Sport and Entertainment Management.

The announcement was made around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Close-Hipp Building along College Street on Columbia’s campus.
“We are honored to partner with the University of South Carolina in advancing opportunities for the next generation of leaders in sports and entertainment,” said David and Nicole Tepper.
Tepper’s involvement at USC
The naming recognizes a partnership with The David and Nicole Tepper Foundation’s Tepper Scholars Program and its generous $5 million gift.
“By investing in students through scholarships, mentorship, and access to industry expertise, we can help create lasting impact,” said David and Nicole Tepper. “It’s inspiring to see how the Tepper Scholars have already begun shaping the future of this field, and we are proud to build on this partnership with the University to continue opening doors for talented students for years to come.”

Officials said funding from the gift establishes the Tepper Professors of Practice, supporting faculty focused on leadership and the business of professional sport — bringing elite practitioner-educators into USC classrooms.
