The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to make something out of their season despite losing star quarterback Joe Burrow to a turf toe injury. The Bengals even traded with their in-state rivals, the Cleveland Browns, to acquire veteran Joe Flacco to help get things turned around.
However, the Bengals, who have lost four straight games, are now looking at another star player missing game time.
“Bengals edge Trey Hendrickson is day-to-day with a back injury after a good result on the MRI. To even have a chance to play on Thursday is positive news,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Twitter on Monday.
Now, Hendrickson is looking less likely than ever to be ready for a Thursday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson (hip) estimated to miss practice on Tuesday. Would not have practiced yesterday, either. Bengals scheduled to practice later this evening,” ESPN’s Ben Baby reported on Tuesday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Don’t play, Eagles need him healthy for when they trade a 3rd rd pick for him,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Bengals defense was playing well until he went out Sunday. We could have a shot thursday with him,” one fan added.
“Getting ready to be traded to the Niners,” another fan added.
If the Bengals lose on Thursday, it’ll be interesting to see if they trade Hendrickson.
