The Philadelphia Eagles knew instantly what they had when they signed Pro Bowl running back Saquon Barkley in free agency last year.

Not even the most ardent supporters of the roster could have predicted the year Barkley was going to have, though.

Over 2,000 yards rushing in the regular season, an NFL record in total rushing yards including playoff games, and a Super Bowl title to boot, Barkley’s first season in Philadelphia was something never before seen.

And that is something that was shared by former Eagles legend Brandon Graham.

“I have never seen anything like that, for real,” Graham said on Good Morning Football last week. “Saquon, hey man, I can’t wait to see you this year because I know you have more in store. For him to take a hit at the end, that was a good one, that ball could’ve popped out and it wouldn’t have been as good of a play…that’s just the technique that we do everyday.

“Saquon bought in when he first walked in and that’s all you really want for a teammate coming in not from here or not from our team.”

Graham won’t be suiting up in an Eagles uniform ever again. He announced his retirement from the game this offseason.

But Barkley’s journey in Philadelphia is just beginning. And if 2025 is anywhere close to what last season was, Barkley and the Eagles may be in for another special ride again.
