The Buffalo Bills are heading into the bye week with more questions than answers. Two straight losses have left fans restless and the offense wobbling. Josh Allen looks frustrated, the receivers look lost, and suddenly the AFC East looks a lot less friendly. Something has to give, and it might just come through a trade.
USA Today’s Nick Brinkerhoff says help could be coming for the Bills. He suggests keeping an eye on Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers. With Buffalo’s offense struggling, adding a proven wideout could be just what they need. This talk comes soon after reports that the Bills might trade Curtis Samuel to the Dolphins for a seventh-round pick. The team’s front office is clearly making moves.

Brinkerhoff broke down a few possible options, including Philadelphia’s A.J. Brown, but he didn’t see that happening anytime soon. Instead, he pointed straight at Meyers as the best, and most realistic, target for Buffalo.
“Meyers headlines the bunch,” Brinkerhoff wrote. “He requested a trade during the offseason after contract extension talks failed, and the Raiders look primed to miss the playoffs.”
Meyers makes sense for Buffalo. He’s in the final year of his deal, meaning no long-term commitment, and he’s still producing at a solid clip. After hitting 1,000 yards in 2024, he’s already proven he can carry a passing game when needed. Across his career with New England and Las Vegas, he’s stacked up 422 catches for 4,921 yards and 20 touchdowns, numbers that speak for themselves.
Brinkerhoff added that Meyers could be a “pure rental” for a contender like Buffalo, which needs a reliable route-runner to open up the middle of the field. The Bills’ current group hasn’t done enough to draw coverage away from Stefon Diggs, and Allen’s options have looked thin without tight end Dalton Kincaid, who missed last week’s loss to Atlanta.
Sports Illustrated’s Alex Brasky also mentioned Saints receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed as possible targets, but Meyers seems like the best fit. The Bills already added wide receiver Gabe Davis last month, and another signing could help stabilize their offense before the playoff push.
