The NFL is now through six weeks. A handful of teams have started to have their bye weeks and some are taking steps as winning franchises. There are also a few teams that have fallen off, despite the belief that they would be great coming into the year.

Who is the true Super Bowl favorite? All of these weeks have passed, and there is no clear frontrunner. All of the teams at the top of the standings have to like their chances of making a run, as long as they can get into the playoffs.

As far as power rankings, these teams are not really separating themselves yet. Normally, we know the five or six legit threats, the close teams, and the teams that have their eyes set on the draft already. Heading into Week 7, here are our latest rankings:

The Contenders

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last Week: 3)

2. Indianapolis Colts (Last Week: 11)

3. Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week: 1)

4. Buffalo Bills (Last Week: 2)

5. Green Bay Packers (Last Week: 5)

6. Pittsburgh Steelers (Last Week: 6)

7. Detroit Lions (Last Week: 4)

8. Los Angeles Chargers (Last Week: 7)

9. Los Angeles Rams (Last Week: 8)

The teams in this tier all have four wins or more. That is, except for the Green Bay Packers, who tied with the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the season, so their record is 3-1-1. They scored 40 points in that game, so it is hard to hold it against them too much when looking at their roster as a whole.

The Indianapolis Colts are now 5-1. Not only did they finally get into this tier, but they went all the way up to No. 2. They deserve respect for not only being 5-1, but for how they got there.

Who is the best team in the NFL? The Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills are going through a tough stretch right now. Is it the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? They need a lot of game-winning performances from Baker Mayfield, which may or may not be something to hold against the team as a whole, but they are great nonetheless.

Teams To Watch

10. Minnesota Vikings (Last Week: 9)

11. San Francisco 49ers (Last Week: 12)

12. Jacksonville Jaguars (Last Week: 10)

13. Denver Broncos (Last Week: 13)

14. New England Patriots (Last Week: 23)

15. Seattle Seahawks (Last Week: 16)

16. Chicago Bears (Last Week: 17)

17. Washington Commanders (Last Week: 14)

18. Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 15)

19. Atlanta Falcons (Last Week: 22)

The Kansas City Chiefs are 3-3. That is about as average as you can be. The eye test also suggests that they are just an average team with an elite coach/quarterback combo. Still, it’s hard to discount their situational football excellence, should they actually get into the playoffs.

The Chicago Bears are slowly but surely starting to rise. They have won three games in a row after dropping their first two, but their two most recent wins needed late-game heroics. Ben Johnson’s team always has a chance, but they still have some more work to do in order to get to that elite tier.

The rest of the teams in this tier are all very good, but there are reasons to be worried about their chances of being a Super Bowl contender.

A Lot To Prove

20. Carolina Panthers (Last Week: 24)

21. Dallas Cowboys (Last Week: 21)

22. Houston Texans (Last Week: 19)

23. Cincinnati Bengals (Last Week: 18)

24. Arizona Cardinals (Last Week: 25)

25. New York Giants (Last Week: 26)

26. Las Vegas Raiders (Last Week: 29)

27. Baltimore Ravens (Last Week: 20)

28. Cleveland Browns (Last Week: 27)

29. Tennessee Titans (Last Week: 30)

30. New Orleans Saints (Last Week: 31)

31. Miami Dolphins (Last Week: 28)

32. New York Jets (Last Week: 32)

These teams are all more on the cusp of seeing 2025 as a lost year. The Carolina Panthers, who are improving, are the only ones here that should be happy with how things are going. For teams like the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, bad injuries to their quarterbacks and others have them reeling with no light at the end of the tunnel.

The Ravens, ranked 27th, were in the top three to start the season. What a nightmare. Are the Jets going to go 0-17? That is unlikely, but the third time doesn’t seem to be the charm for Justin Fields in the NFL.
