ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The 2026 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta this January is officially sold out, according to officials.
The game is set to be played at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Jan. 9, from Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Two teams that advance from their respective CFP Quarterfinal games will play in the Peach Bowl before the winner advances to play in the National Championship game on Monday, Jan. 19, at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
The Peach Bowl has now sold out 26 of its last 29 games.
“We look forward to hosting two of the nation’s best teams for one of the biggest games of the year in the Capital of College Football,” said Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO and President Gary Stokan. “And now we know that game will be played in an unmatched atmosphere inside a sold-out Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.”
This is the fourth time that the Peach Bowl has hosted a semifinal game, but its first in the recently implemented 12-team format.
The bowl game hosted semifinals in 2016, 2019 and 2022 — when eventual National Champion No. 1 Georgia defeated No. 4 Ohio State, 42-41 — during the four-team CFP and hosted its first-ever CFP Quarterfinal on Jan. 1, 2025.
Last season’s Peach Bowl delivered one of the most memorable CFP games in recent memory: A double-overtime thriller between the No. 4-seeded Big 12 champion Arizona State Sun Devils and the No. 5-seeded Texas Longhorns.
