The Kansas City Chiefs welcome back Rashee Rice this weekend, and NFL Insider Dan Graziano thinks another addition is on the cards.

November 4 will be circled in every general manager’s calendar with the trade window set to slam shut a 4pm ET.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has overseen a 3-3 start and the offense is starting to click into gear, with Rice’s return from a six-week suspension a massive boost.

But running back has been an issue as Isiah Pacheco fails to recreate his pre-injury form and Kareem Hunt looks a long way removed from the athlete who led the league in rushing in 2017.

Breece Hall is in the final year of his rookie deal with the 0-6 New York Jets, and ESPN analyst Graziano believes he could be on the block with the deadline fast approaching.

“Breece Hall is a player that has an explosive element to his game. Doesn’t have a contract beyond this year with the New York Jets and they have some younger running backs on the roster that they might see as more of a part of their future,” he exclusively told talkSPORT.

“If you go to the Jets with the right kind of offer, Jets are 0 and 6, more draft picks is a good thing for a team that seems like it’ll finish near the bottom of standings.

“I think that’s one to watch. Breece Hall for sure. There are teams out there that I think are interested in adding a running back at the deadline. Houston Texans could use one, the Kansas City Chiefs.”

Hall ran a 4.39 in the Combine before joining the Jets in the second round in 2022.

He is a legitimate dual-threat weapon with the potential to take any play to the house, but injuries and inconsistent form have affected his time in New Jersey.

Isaiah Davis — a fifth-round pick in 2024 — has shown glimpses of potential, as had Braelon Allen, who went a round earlier in the same class, before going on IR with an MCL sprain that could keep him out for most of the season.

Head coach Aaron Glenn is adamant that his pre-season stance that Hall isn’t on the market remains the same, but positions change quickly in pro football.

“They’re rumors,” Glenn said Wednesday. “I still feel the same way.”

Kansas City bosses are always on the lookout for speed in the skill positions, with Xavier Worthy (4.21), Hollywood Brown (4.27), Tyquan Thornton (4.28), and Jalen Royals (4.42) boasting elite 40 times in the wide receiver room.

“It’s like a track team out there, a 4 x1 team,” Chiefs wide receivers coach Connor Embree said in September. “It’s next man up; they all can run.

“That’s kind of what our offense is based off is just speed, speed, speed, speed. And then just like you said, we got a lot of guys that can run. So, I like the depth of our room and the speed of it.”

Pacheco is no slouch himself, having run a 4.37 40, but after averaging 4.9 yards per carry in his rookie season, has fallen off to 4.2 in 2025.

Hall is at 4.7, with the added bonus of turning 17 targets into 150 yards.

NFL trade deadline approaches

Cornerback Greg Newsome and quarterback Joe Flacco have already been the subject of high-profile trades and there are likely a few more in the pipeline.

Graziano added: “Pass rushers, Miami has a couple in Bradley Chubb and Jalen Phillips. Miami’s one and five. Are they gonna start selling off pieces?

“There are teams that have their eye on those kinds of guys. So yeah, I think it’ll be a very active couple of weeks. Last week we saw a couple of trades already.

“Jacobi Myers is out in Las Vegas with the Raiders. He wanted a new contract last off season, didn’t get one, requested a trade, didn’t get one, so maybe now that happens.

“So you look for guys like that that are kind of sort of toward the end of their contracts and not part of their team’s future plans.”
