The Tennessee Titans have an opening at head coach and one member of the Indianapolis Colts’ coaching staff could be of interest.
The Titans fired Brian Callahan earlier this week. Following a 3-14 season in 2024, Tennessee was off to a 1-5 start in Year 2 under Callahan.
So who might be of interest to the Titans? The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport mentioned Colts‘ defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo as a name to watch.
“Who are they going to hire?” Rapoport said. “Expect a methodical, well-thought-out search. A couple names to watch here, Matt Nagy would be one. Arthur Smith would be another. Lou Anarumo, Mike McCarthy, a couple more.”
This is Anarumo’s first season as the Colts’ defensive coordinator. Prior to that, he was the defensive play-caller in Cincinnati for six seasons.
At the NFL level, Anarumo does not have any previous head coaching experience.
The Indianapolis defense will enter Week 7 ranked fourth in points per game. Adding to the impressiveness of this is that Anarumo has helped this unit reach this point while dealing with a number of injuries in the secondary, and at times, up and down play up front.
As of now, it remains to be seen if Tennessee will pursue Anarumo, but Rapoport’s report makes him a name to watch.
