Is this where the Houston Texans right the ship, respond on the road and return to the conversation of AFC South favorites? Maybe not, but the well-rested roster could have the opportunity to turn Monday night’s game into a statement long past the regular season.

The Texans will battle the Seattle Seahawks on Monday at Lumen Field for a chance to secure their first win out on the Pacific Northwest. All-time, Houston has one win against the NFC West foe, coming back in 2017 at NRG Stadium.

Seattle is looking to extend its winning streak to two games and improve to 5-2 on the year behind potential MVP candidate Sam Darnold and a dominant run defense.

The Texans are coming off their bye week following back-to-back wins over the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens. Sure, both defenses have been rocky all seaso, putting up 26 and 44 points, respectively, might just be the spark needed for C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins and the young pass-catchers to hit their stride entering an 11-game run toward December.

The defense continues to be Houston’s backbone in games, forcing turnovers, leveling quarterbacks and winning in coverage. Entering Monday night, the Texans top all defenses in scoring (12.9 points per game) and rank top five in both total yards (265.8 yards per game) and passing coverage (114.3 yards allowed per game).

The Seahawks are a 3.5-point home favorite against the Texans, according to BetMGM. But what do the experts think? Here’s a look around the league:
