The Minnesota Vikings are seeking their first win streak of the 2025 season. Standing in their way is the Philadelphia Eagles, the defending Super Bowl champions who have dropped two games in a row after a 4-0 start.

A win could get the Vikings right back into the mix of a crowded NFC that features ten teams with two or fewer losses. Minnesota, 3-2, still sits at 3rd in the NFC North, holding a tiebreaker over the Bears.

Sunday begins a four-game gauntlet that begins with the Eagles before matchups against the Chargers, Lions, and Ravens. Getting off on the right foot can give the Vikings not only better standings in the NFC, but also the confidence they can hang with the best teams in the league.

Here are three bold predictions for the Vikings’ matchup against the Eagles in Week 7.

Jonathan Greenard will have a sack

This may not have felt like a bold prediction heading into the season, but Jonathan Greenard hasn’t been able to bring the quarterback to the ground often this season. He has a team-high 24 pressures (per PFF) and has been plenty disruptive, but he only has one sack. Several of his near-sacks have quickly resulted in teammates cleaning up and receiving credit for the sacks.

Greenard will have a tough matchup with Eagles left tackle Jordan Mailata, who has only allowed one sack through six games but also 14 pressures. Perhaps the Vikings will try getting Greenard free on stunts, but it feels like it’s a matter of time before he finally gets to the quarterback again.

The defense will force two turnovers

Takeaways have been tough to come by for the Vikings this season. They have forced seven turnovers, which ranks 9th in the league, but five came against the Bengals in Week 3, and they have gone the past two games without a takeaway.

Much like Greenard, it feels like the rest of the defense is due to force another turnover. They still rank first in EPA allowed, and the Eagles had two turnovers in their Week 6 loss to the Giants.

Although Philadelphia may be preaching ball security, they only had three turnovers this year. Sometimes turnovers come in bunches, meaning the timing could be right for the Vikings to get back on track.

Justin Jefferson to return to the endzone

Justin Jefferson has been heating up since Jordan Addison returned to the lineup in Week 4. Over the past two games, Jefferson has 17 receptions for 249 yards.

But Jefferson’s lone touchdown of the season came all the way back in Week 1. It feels like Carson Wentz is beginning to get more comfortable throwing contested passes to Jefferson, who will likely have Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell covering him most of the day.

Mitchell has been great in his second season, but is he capable of bottling up Jefferson all day? It feels like Greenard with sacks, that Jefferson is ready to get back into the end zone.
