The Dallas Cowboys secondary will get some badly needed reinforcements on Sunday.

The team announced that cornerback Caelen Carson has been activated to the 53-man roster from injured reserve. Carson will make his first appearance of the season after suffering a hyperextended knee during a training camp practice in July.

The second-year CB was a fifth-round pick out of Purdue in last year’s NFL draft and appeared in six games in 2024, registering 27 tackles and four passes defended.

Carson’s return comes in a week the Dallas secondary needs some extra help with Trevon Diggs out after suffering a concussion in a home accident.

The Cowboys also elevated Malik Davis from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against Washington. Jonathan Mingo, who was listed as questionable for Sunday, remains on IR and is out for the game. Mingo is in the middle of his 21-day practice window to return from IR. His practice window was opened on Oct. 1, but if he is not active after 21 days, he either reverts to season-ending IR or can be released/traded.
