On Saturday, the Wolverines hosted the son of a legendary Nebraska football running back, and judging by his post about the day’s events it appears Michigan has a good chance to land him for their Class of 2027.

Son of Nebraska Running Back Visits Ann Arbor
Correll Buckhalter was a member of the 1997 split national title holder Nebraska Cornhuskers, rushing for 311 yards as a freshman.
That Nebraska team, coached by the legendary Tom Osborne, was known for its ground-and-pound option running attack and Buckhalter eventually became a big part of it.

Buckhalter, a native of Collins, Mississippi, eventually ran for 2,944 yards in the National Football League as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and Denver Broncos.
Now, his son Correll Buckhalter Jr. is starring in high school and preparing to choose his next level school. Buckhalter Jr., a member of the Class of 2027, sent a message to Michigan fans on Saturday.
“Had a great time at Michigan!” he said, tagging a reporter and sharing photos.
Buckhalter Jr. is a 5-foot-10, 185 pound running back from Argyle, Texas with offers from Iowa, Tulsa, Ole Miss, TCU, UCLAA and others.

He is currently rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and attends Liberty Christian High School.
A commitment isn’t likely to come anytime soon but the Wolverines are known for stocking up on running backs as their current advantageous backfield situation shows.
Wolverines’ Marshall Steals the Show
Buckhalter Jr. had a front row seat for a dominant 133-yard effort by starting Wolverines running back Jordan Marshall, who filled in for the injured Justice Haynes.

Marshall’s tough between-the-tackles running called to mind Kalel Mullings and Blake Corum as the Wolverines got back to their winning ways after last week’s loss to USC.
The insertion of Wolverines freshman Jasper Parker into the lineup also turned heads as the freshman and former three-star rushed for 20 yards.
Buckhalter Jr.’s running style an accolades are similar to Parker’s at this stage, suggesting that Saturday’s running backs rotation may have caught his eye.

Michigan has plenty of time to woo the son of the Huskers legend, and if he’s anything like his famous father Buckhalter Jr., his recruitment would be another feather in the recruiting cap of coach Sherrone Moore and his staff at some point in time.
