By virtue of holding the head-to-head tiebreaker, Bishop Dwenger needed a victory Friday over South Side to claim its first SAC title since 2018. The Saints did exactly that, running past the Archers 28-12 at Shields Field.
Houston Ellinger, AJ Shefferly and Kolyn Campbell each rushed for Dwenger touchdowns, and Lucas Nguyen added a pair of field goals for the Saints (7-2, 6-1 SAC A).
Robert Murphy III rushed for a touchdown and threw for another for South Side (2-7, 2-5 SAC B).
HOMESTEAD 42, CONCORDIA 0: At Walters Stadium, Shane Bardwell rushed for three touchdowns for the Spartans (6-3, 5-2 SAC A), who have not lost to the Cadets (1-8, 1-6 SAC B) since joining the SAC.
SNIDER 24, NORTH SIDE 20: At Chambers Field, the Panthers (3-6, 3-4 SAC A) trailed 20-3 with 4:36 left in the third quarter before rallying past the Legends (5-4, 3-4 SAC B).
NORTHROP 47, WAYNE 14: At Spuller Stadium, Jerquaden Guilford broke the single-season receiving touchdown mark and David Callison broke the single-season passing yards record for the Bruins (7-2, 5-2 SAC A), who finished the regular season with as many wins as in the last four seasons combined. It was the first winless campaign for the Generals (0-9, 0-7 SAC B) since 2019.
EAST NOBLE 60, BELLMONT 7: In Kendallville, the Class 4A No. 2 Knights (9-0, 7-0 NE8) scored 54 first-half points to win the NE8 outright, capping their first unbeaten regular season since 2019 and just their fourth in school history. Charlie Faurote’s fourth-quarter touchdown pass helped the Braves (0-9, 0-7) avoid the shutout.
HUNTINGTON NORTH 49, NEW HAVEN 13: In New Haven, the Vikings (4-5, 4-3 NE8) secured just their third win over the Bulldogs (2-7, 2-5) since joining the NE8.
COLUMBIA CITY 42, NORWELL 14: In Columbia City, the Eagles (5-4, 3-4 NE8) jumped ahead 28-0 at halftime to secure their fourth straight regular season over .500.
Norwell (1-8 overall) finished its conference slate with a 1-6 mark.
ADAMS CENTRAL 57, WOODLAN 18: In Monroe, the Class 2A No. 1 Flying Jets capped off a fifth straight unbeaten run in the ACAC. Hayden Bluhm returned an interception for a touchdown for Adams Central (9-0, 6-0 ACAC), which ensured the Warriors (2-7, 0-6) would finish the conference season without a victory.
BLUFFTON 55, BLACKHAWK CHRISTIAN 0: At Zollner Stadium, the Class 2A No. 10 Tigers (8-1) jumped out to a 49-0 lead by halftime, getting a pair of rushing touchdowns from both Khamel Moore and Cooper Craig. The Braves (2-7) fell to 1-2 against ACAC competition this season, getting 71 rushing yards from Chip Bennett.
JAY COUNTY 15, HERITAGE 14: In Portland, Nick Laux’s touchdown pass and conversion run with 7.4 seconds remaining propelled the host Patriots (3-6, 2-4 ACAC) past the Patriots of Monroeville (5-4, 2-4).
SOUTH ADAMS 42, SOUTHERN WELLS 7: In Berne, the Starfires (6-3, 4-2 ACAC) led 28-0 at halftime to extend their win streak over the Raiders (2-7, 2-4) to nine games.
EASTSIDE 33, ANGOLA 28: In Butler, Noah Dove’s 4-yard touchdown run with 8:53 remaining propelled the Blazers (7-2) to victory, squaring the series 5-5 against the Hornets (4-5) in the last 10 meetings.
CHURUBUSCO 27, FAIRFIELD 0: In Benton, Bryce Lawrence threw for touchdowns of 60 yards (to Brody Lawrence) and 65 yards (to Weston Ott) for the Eagles (7-2). Lawrence added a 26-yard touchdown run with 2:24 remaining to cap the scoring. The Falcons (3-6) saw their two-game win streak in the series ended.
FREMONT 40, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN (OHIO) 7: In Toledo, Jaret Laughlin amassed four touchdowns (two rushing, two passing) by halftime in the third game this season for Fremont (6-3) against an opponent with Eagles as its mascot. The host Eagles fell to 5-4.
GARRETT 69, CENTRAL NOBLE 21: In Albion, the Railroaders (4-5) finished with their second-highest single-game point total in school history and their most points scored in a game since defeating Sturgis (Mich.) 98-0 on Oct. 25, 1919. The Cougars dropped to 1-8.
WEST NOBLE 42, PRAIRIE HEIGHTS 6: In Ligonier, McKale Bottles got the Chargers (7-2) going early, scoring the first touchdown of the game and forcing a fumble in the first quarter. West Noble extended its winning streak against the Panthers (0-9) to 12.
WARSAW 34, NORTHRIDGE 19: In Warsaw, the Tigers (6-3, 5-2 NLC) fell behind 12-7 with 15 seconds to go before halftime, but an 88-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Tucker Reed keyed a 27-0 run to help Warsaw secure third place in the conference.
MISHAWAKA 36, WAWASEE 14: In Mishawaka, the Class 4A No. 3 Cavemen (8-1, 7-0 NLC) put the finishing touches on their third conference title overall and first outright title in their six seasons in the NLC.
Kaden Andrew and Benji Brace both rushed for touchdowns for the Warriors (1-8, 0-7).
WABASH 36, WHITKO 35: In South Whitley, the Wildcats (1-8, 0-8 TRC) fell despite posting their best offensive output since a 53-24 win at North Miami on Sept. 18, 2020.
