The New York Jets and Carolina Panthers aren’t exactly must-see TV in 2025. Turns out, the broadcast audio matches fan sentiment in Week 7.
Following kickoff from MetLife Stadium, Jets and Panthers fans were treated to a throwback broadcast in terms of audio quality. Except the throwback part was far from intentional.
NFL on Fox’s Chris Meyers apologized for the issues with the sound, which came through as muffled and mirroring something that would be common with an AM radio broadcast or a fireside chat in the 1930s.
Carolina settled for a field goal on their opening drive, but the audio concerns appeared to be resolved following the commercial break.
Regardless, fans had plenty to say about how it sounded.
