Week 7 has a pair of standout matchups in the late window, including an NFC East battle and a showdown between two of the AFC’s playoff contenders.
The Washington Commanders visit the Dallas Cowboys in one of the NFL’s oldest rivalries. Washington (3-3) and Dallas (2-3-1) face off for the first time this season, and the Cowboys could use a big win to keep pace in a tight NFC East. The Commanders are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Bears, 25-24, last week, while Dallas came up on the short end of a thriller in Carolina in Week 6, falling 30-27 to the Panthers. Dak Prescott vs. Jayden Daniels promises to be a juicy quarterback matchup, and the team that wins might be the one who has the ball last.

Meanwhile at SoFi Stadium, the 5-1 Indianapolis Colts look to continue their hot start against the 4-2 Los Angeles Chargers. Daniel Jones and the Colts’ offense has been arguably the NFL’s best through the first six weeks, but Jim Harbaugh and Jesse Minter’s Chargers defense won’t be easy to score against. Justin Herbert will be a stiff challenge to stop for the Colts’ defense, too.
The early window on Sunday delivered plenty of buzzy storylines. The Tennessee Titans were blown out by the New England Patriots in the return of former head coach Mike Vrabel, capping a rough week for Tennessee. The New York Jets benched starting quarterback Justin Fields against the Panthers. And Rashee Rice returned in a big way for the Kansas City Chiefs, who blanked the Las Vegas Raiders 31-0 for the first regular season shutout of Andy Reid’s Hall of Fame career.

Reigning Offensive Player of the Year Saquon Barkley has exited Sunday’s matchup after being down briefly with an unknown injury.
The Eagles kept it rolling following his exit, however, as Jalen Hurts had back-to-back passes of 20-plus-yard gains to follow, including a 21-yard play to DeVonta Smith and a 26-yard touchdown to AJ Brown — his second of the game so far.
Eagles lead the Vikings 28-19 with just over six minutes left in the fourth quarter.

It appears that Patrick Mahomes’ day is done.
To close out the third quarter, the Chiefs hold a 31-0 lead over the Raiders with 406 offensive yards while holding the Raiders to just 70 total yards through three quarters. Backup Gardner Minshew enters the game in Mahomes’ place for his second appearance with the Kansas City.
Mahomes finishes the day with 286 passing yards, 3 TD, and 0 INT with an NFL passer rating of 126.6. Week 7 marks Mahomes’ fourth consecutive game with 25-plus fantasy points. Two of those touchdowns went to WR Rashee Rice, who made his season debut Sunday following a six-game suspension.

The New York Jets have apparently seen enough from QB Justin Fields for now, turning to veteran backup Tyrod Taylor while sending Fields to the bench.
Fields had gone just 6-of-12 for 46 passing yards in the first half and was replaced by Taylor to open up the third quarter.
Fields had also taken three sacks for a 21-yard loss following a disastrous Week 6 outing against the Broncos, where he completed 52.9% of passes for 45 passing yards with what was technically -10 net passing yards once you account for the 55 yards he lost on nine sacks taken.
Running back Breece Hall did make his return to the lineup in the second half on Sunday after exiting late in the second quarter with an injury scare, replaced briefly by second-year backup Isaiah Davis.
