Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice, during his postgame press conference, explained his passionate performance in his return to the field in the Week 7 rout of the Las Vegas Raiders. A notable moment was in the first quarter, punting the ball in celebration after scoring a touchdown.
“Just a lot of passion, I had to get the first one out of the way. I probably won’t be punting the ball anymore, but I had to bring the juice,” said Rice, “I had to bring a spark to the offense, first play, first touchdown of the game. However, we needed to get our energy going. I had to do it.”
Rice returned to the field dominantly, finishing Sunday with seven catches for 42 yards and two touchdowns. He shared his emotional response to playing his first game of the season after injury and suspension.

“Yeah, it meant a lot more today. You don’t really notice how much you love someone till it’s gone, or possibly could be gone,” said Rice, “I was able to get a glimpse of that, and you know, I don’t ever want to feel that again. So just being able to be out here with my brothers, that’s like the most love I’ve had in a long time. I feel great.”
Rice missed the first six games this season due to suspension, but hadn’t played a regular-season game since Week 4 of last season, suffering a knee injury.
