Well, we’re almost through another Sunday of NFL football, and the Buffalo Bills didn’t lose. However, they didn’t find the help they needed in Week 7, thanks to the Tennessee Titans (who started off well) losing a home game to the New England Patriots. Now, the Patriots march toward Week 8 with both a half game lead and a tiebreaker. Even worse? New England is currently holding the two seed in the AFC playoff race. Gross, right?

The Bills can’t exact revenge on the Patriots until they travel to Foxborough, MA in Week 15. That means any thoughts of another early AFC East title should be put to bed before the sun sets on the west coast. For certain, Buffalo has made good on slow/poor starts before, but they have no one aside from themselves to thank for this game of NFL catch up that may consume them through November.

Regarding tonight’s game, there’s nothing to gain for the Bills beyond a strength-of-schedule measure should the Atlanta Falcons win. You don’t want to hear about consolation prizes in terms of playoff seeding benefits? Well, they wouldn’t exist if they weren’t important. The Falcons are a very talented group, as Bills Mafia should now understand. Will Atlanta’s top-ranked defense continue its stingy ways against the San Francisco 49ers?

Not so fast, with reserve quarterback Mac Jones making another start over an injured Brock Purdy. Jones has looked the part of a former first-round draft pick who panned out, which says a lot about how important each situation is for every player, most especially quarterback.

The former Patriot is off to a hot start, and he could dash Bills fans’ hopes of that SOV benefit by guiding the Niners to a win this evening. With two more games to go on Monday night, we’ll have to wait a bit longer than all day for the Bill to return to the practice field in preparation for their Week 8 matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

After a busy open thread for this afternoon’s games, we’re starting fresh for the nightcap. Be sure to catch up on the Bills’ rooting interests in Week 7, but let’s take a look to see which games when Buffalo’s way in Week 7.
