ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A special guest watched the Minnesota Vikings games with fans at the American Legion Post 92 in Rochester.
Minnesota Vikings legend Chuck Foreman joined the Rochester crowd for a game watch, meeting with veterans and fans while taking pictures and signing memorabilia.
Foreman had tickets for Sunday’s game against the Eagles, but prefers finding ways to connect with the Vikings faithful.
“This to me is the best way to watch the game,” Foreman said. “I’m right here where I want to be with the people I want to be with. Plus, there’s a lot of people that come in here that really actually watched me play.”
Foreman’s jersey number, 44, was worn across the Legion. Foreman is a member of the Minnesota Vikings Ring of Honor after spending seven seasons with the team in the 1970s. He was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 1973 and a five-time Pro Bowler in Minnesota. Foreman enjoys chatting with fans about his playing days.
“It certainly is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to do that,” he said. “The compliments we get are very much appreciated. It lets me know that we did our job well when we were here playing for the Vikings.”
The American Legion Post 92 created a gameday experience for Sunday’s contest with music, giveaways and Skol Chants. To Foreman, connecting with fans is a privilege.
“To be able to still come out and enjoy myself like this is a blessing,” he said.
