The New England Patriots signed defensive tackle Isaiah Iton ahead of organized team activities, per MassLive’s Mark Daniels.

Iton most recently played for the Tennessee Titans. He went undrafted in 2024 but signed with the team as a free agent last May. He was waived during roster cuts in August but was added back to the Titans’ practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the team in January, but he was waived in April.

The Patriots have been busy adding depth to the defensive tackle position throughout the offseason. They signed Milton Williams to a blockbuster deal in free agency, along with adding Khyiris Tonga. The team also drafted rookie defensive tackle Joshua Farmer and signed undrafted rookie Jahvaree Ritzie.

Iton is best viewed as a potential developmental piece for the Patriots. There’s hope that Christian Barmore will be 100 percent by the start of the season, but given his ongoing health issues, there are still questions on when and if he’ll be available in 2025.

It would make sense for the Patriots to get ahead of it by rounding out their defensive tackle depth before training camp.
