FRISCO — Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after the game that the defensive performance on Sunday in a 44-22 win over the Washington Commanders didn’t spike his interest in a potential trade for a defensive player.

“Not at all. I feel just as inclined or not inclined, really, I’m not trying to be any way. I don’t have anything in front of me right now that I’m interested in. I haven’t noodled up something that I might be interested in.”

Jones is more interested in letting things come to him, in terms of a trade, rather than seeking them. He has his reasons, too.

“I’m not going to holler in my pillow if we don’t get a trade,” he said, “because I feel good about the makeup of the personnel we’ve got on the team right now.”

The Cowboys, as Jones indicated multiple times this season, are on the verge of getting some reinforcements — on defense and offense.

The Cowboys are expected to open the practice windows for linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, center Cooper Beebe and rookie third-round corner Shavon Revel on Wednesday. They’re also expected to activate wide receiver Jonathan Mingo from injured reserve. His practice window was set to run out on Wednesday.

“Don’t predict they’re all playing, but we’re excited to get those guys back,” Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said on Monday. “They worked so hard man. Both [Overshown and Revel] worked so hard to get back so I’m excited to get them back out there, but we’ll be smart. We’ll ramp them up and see how they do.”

Schottenheimer also confirmed that cornerback Trevon Diggs is still in concussion protocol after an unspecified accident at his home last Thursday. Diggs was at the facility and seen by the team doctors, but was sent home quickly after. Jones insinuated after Sunday’s game that Diggs would have a chance to return on Sunday in Denver.

Each of the three players coming off injured reserve will have their practice windows open until Nov. 12. It’s a good time, too. The Cowboys will play on the road in Denver on Sunday before playing a Monday night game at home against Arizona. The Cowboys then have a bye before they head to Las Vegas to play the struggling Raiders. The 21-day window closes the Wednesday after the bye.

Beebe hasn’t played since Week 2 against the New York Giants. Overshown hasn’t played since Dec. 9 of last season after he tore multiple ligaments in his knee. Revel hasn’t played since Week 3 of last season.

Overshown and Revel were seen doing increased rehabilitation work last week during the media viewing portion of practice.

The return for Overshown is actually expected before the original target date. Overshown said earlier this offseason that he hoped to be back by Thanksgiving. Now he’s expected back even before.

Revel, on the other hand, hasn’t had a specific target date. He told The Dallas Morning News earlier this season that he wanted to wait until he felt fully healthy and fully confident to return.

“There’s a lot of emotions that go through it,” Schottenheimer said of the return of Revel. “When’s it going to happen?’ and all those things. There are tears and fears and all those things like that, but you’ve just seen them over the last couple of weeks, working with Britt [Brown]. You’ve seen the confidence in the change of direction and the things that he’s doing, which now makes us very comfortable opening his window and letting him go out there and play football, which he loves to do.”

Schottenheimer said it’ll be mostly scout team work for Revel as he gets acclimated to playing for the first time in over a year. He also didn’t want to set the standard too high for his return. Simply, he’s excited to see them playing again.
