Dak Prescott is playing at MVP level, and Jerry Jones knows it.
The Dallas Cowboys‘ franchise quarterback, who is one of the NFL’s highest-paid stars, threw three touchdowns in Sunday’s 44-22 win against the Washington Commanders.

He completed 21/30 passes for 264 yards, and finished with a 130.4 rating.
Speaking post-game, owner Jones was asked if he considers Prescott the MVP through seven weeks of the season.
“Well, he’s mine, and he should be Cowboy fans,” Jones responded.
“He gives us a tremendous opportunity and this team is really following him.

Cowboys defense clicks in big win vs Washington
Prescott has been playing at a high level all year. But despite putting up plenty of points with a humming offense, Dallas has three losses alongside their three wins.
That, in part, is down to Matt Eberflus’ much-maligned defensive unit, which lost star pass-rusher Micah Parsons on the eve of the season.
On Sunday, it looked as if the Cowboys defense finally clicked, as they limited Washington to 341 yards, had five sacks and forced two turnovers.
Now, it’s time for Jones to double down and give that unit a major boost.
Brian T. Smith, talkSPORT’s Senior US Reporter, believes that should come in the form of a landscape-shifting trade for Maxx Crosby.

“Dak Prescott is a serious MVP candidate, but the Dallas Cowboys still have one of the worst defenses in the NFL,” Smith said, urging the Cowboys to make a huge move.
“Wake up, Jerry Jones. Swing a blockbuster trade for Maxx Crosby and give Dak the D he deserves.
“Crosby is wasting his time in Las Vegas and Tom Brady isn’t fixing the Raiders anytime soon.
“After giving away Micah Parsons, Jones can make up for his preseason mistake by using the draft picks he keeps bragging about to actually help his football team in 2025.”
When Jones sent Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, the Cowboys received DT Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks in return.
The Cowboys owner later admitted he could have ‘special’ plans for that capital, and Smith believes he should put those picks up for an established defensive star like Crosby.

Crosby, who is playing under a three-year, $106.5 million contract, has already racked up an NFL-leading 10 tackles for loss through seven weeks of 2025.
He has hit that number in each of his seven seasons to date, proving that he is one of the most dangerous defenders in the league.
Many Cowboys fans are taking notice, and are desperate to see Jones make a play for the Raiders star, especially as his team is struggling with a 2-5 record.
“Eff them picks. Go get Maxx. This offense too hot,” one fan said Sunday.

“Can we get Maxx and (C.J.) Henderson? Just go all in and worry about everything after Super Bowl,” another wrote on X.
“Listen… Dallas has draft capital. Raiders need to sell NOW! Maxx Crosby you ARE a Dallas Cowboy,” a third claimed.
“Get Maxx Crosby out of Las Vegas and bring him to Dallas, please,” a fourth wrote.
Right now, Prescott and the Cowboys offense feels too good to waste, and if Jones really does explore a trade for Crosby, he could put America’s Team on course for their first Super Bowl win since 1996.
