The success of the secondary also contributed a large portion to the overall accomplishments of the defense against the Dolphins. For Delpit to record a sack and a forced fumble, CB Tyson Campbell to have a pick-six, S Rayshawn Jenkins to add a fumble recovery and interception, and S Ronnie Hickman to close it out with an interception, their ability to support the front seven against opposing offenses paid dividends.

“It feels great because when you do something like this, it gives everybody confidence,” Jenkins said. “Hey, I can do that again. I can do it again and again, and that’s what we’re going to need for the rest of the season. Just everybody’s best.”

Their win can foster a culture of winning for the Browns. They have two complete games of film with their style of play that created success. They have concrete examples of another game where complementary football led them to the win, with all three sides of the ball contributing to big plays against the Dolphins.

As the Browns prepare to face the Patriots in Week 8, they can pull from their most recent win as they look to stack wins, build momentum and lay the next brick of the foundation for continued success.

“It’s important to build sustainability as well,” Gabriel said. “There’s a lot that we will look back, and it’s good in many areas, and there’s a lot of things that you want to clean up. But I think that’s what I’m excited about most is guys are eager. Guys want to get better. And when you look at the areas of improvement, it’s encouraged, and we always encourage that.”
