The Forsyth Panthers not only looked impressive this week versus the Fair Grove Eagles, but they handled the Eagles with dominance and precision. The final score ended up being 58 – 34, and this was another showcase of explosive offense from the Panthers.
Wide receiver Maverick Blevins had multiple impressive receiving touchdowns, one contested catch which looked almost impossible to pull off in the corner of the end zone, and another full body extended diving touchdown.
With running back Tamarkus Holmes being limited this week, senior running back K.K. Conway stepped up as the star of the show in the backfield with multiple rushing touchdowns for the Panthers. Senior quarterback Chris Halbrook was absolutely slinging the ball all over the field on Friday, dealing out touchdowns for his teammates like it was Oprah Winfrey handing out prizes.
“We had a really hard week in practice, we got prepared, we executed, and I am really proud of our guys from top to bottom,” said Head Coach Kris Conley.
Defensively, senior linebacker Tarant Hall had an impressive game. He was flying all over the field making plays and keeping the energy high for the Panthers.
“Tarant was a monster. He made all of the plays, keeping them contained, he is a dog man,” said Conley.
During the 2nd quarter, Hall went down with an injury and his status was uncertain for the rest of the quarter. However, he returned in the second half with twice the energy and aggression that he had before, and Hall had his game of the season.
“We had a great week in practice, and we did what we needed to do,” said Hall. “We had a little miscommunication at the beginning but we got it right and we came through.”
With Hollister defeating Springfield Catholic on Friday, this opens up a chance for the Forsyth Panthers to become the champions of the Mid-Lakes Conference.
“We prepare for every opponent the same way, and we try to put the best game plan together to win,” said Conley.
With the regular season winding down, the Panthers are in a great spot to win the Mid-Lakes Conference, and they are putting together a strong resume for a post season run. One of the only weak spots the Panthers have is that they have not all been 100% healthy this season, however Mid-Lakes, and Class 2 district 3 teams should fear a completely healthy Forsyth team.
The Panthers had another impressive win this week, and they look to face the Buffalo Bison for another Mid-Lakes Conference matchup on Friday, Oct 24.
