Top teams to watch ahead of the 2025 NFL trade deadline

USA TODAY Sports’ Joe Rivera and Chris Bumbaca break down which teams to keep an eye out for ahead of the November 4th NFL trade deadline.

The NFL regular season is seven weeks old and the Jets still don’t have a win.

The Jets have opened the 2025 regular season with seven consecutive losses, the most recent a 13-6 result in Week 7 where the defense played well for a second consecutive week but the offense couldn’t get in the end zone for a second straight game.

The biggest news out of the game wasn’t the final score, but that Jets head coach Aaron Glenn made the decision at halftime to bench Justin Fields for veteran QB Tyrod Taylor.

While Glenn remains quiet on whether it will be Taylor or Fields under center against the Bengals in Week 8, it would be a shock at this point if the first year head coach turned back to Fields, especially after Jets’ owner Woody Johnson’s recent comments at the NFL’s owners meetings on Tuesday morning.

Jets vs. Bengals predictions, picks, odds

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Wednesday, Oct. 22:

Bengals 27, Jets 13: It doesn’t matter if it’s Taylor or Fields under center, it’s clear the Jets can’t score touchdowns against the league’s worst defenses at home. While the Jets will break their touchdown drought in this game, it won’t be enough to keep up with this Bengals offense, especially if Wilson remains sidelined and Gardner can’t clear concussion protocol in time. Bengals roll with ease at home in this one.

Spread: Bengals by 6.5 points
